There’s no magic number for the ideal number of website pages for SEO. It depends on your specific business and its needs. High-quality, relevant content that benefits your audience is always key, regardless of page count.

A website should have as many pages as necessary to effectively convey your business offerings and values. This typically includes:

  1. The homepage
  2. The about page
  3. Pages for your services/products
  4. Collection Pages (If you have a large number of products)
  5. The contact page
  6. A blog section (if relevant)

However, you need to put in the effort to make sure each of these pages is actually worth having on your website. Each unique page you publish needs to actually be valuable and useful for users. More pages could mean more opportunities to rank for various keywords, but this only holds true if the pages are rich with quality content.

Adding pages simply for the sake of SEO without providing substance can harm your reputation with both Google and your users

This does not mean that you can’t scale content. If you, for example, modify your products and services for each state or country you conduct business with, then you will want to build near-identical pages that have the appropriate modified information for targeted regions.

However, if you build pages at scale just to target different variations of the same keyword without adding any unique value to said pages, then you’re directly violating Google’s spam policies.

Remember, SEO isn’t just about quantity but also about relevance, quality, and user experience. Prioritize creating content that’s genuinely useful and informative for your audience. This is what will truly boost your SEO in the long run.
